The Ahearn Family Foundation (“AFF”) was established in 1994 to assist specific needs of programs that serve the poor; support the arts; and enhance education.
AFF reviews requests for grants that specifically meet the criteria outlined in our Mission Statement.
Requests are viewed more favorably if they are for specific tangible items for a program. Requests for general funding of an organization or program are only given in certain circumstances.

IMPORTANT NOTE
The Board would like to take this opportunity to remind all applicants that the Ahearn Family Foundation generally funds equipment purchases up to $5,000. Past funded projects include requests for community furnishings, refrigeration units, dishwashers, technology and other reusable items. The Board prefers to fund the purchase of explicit items that will have a meaningful lifetime of use for the organization and/or the individuals served by the organization. If, however, the request includes items that the organization plans to re-order each year, we consider this an annual expense that should be integrated into the organization’s budget and funded through other sustainable means. It is also the preference of the Board to support organizations with smaller budgets where our contributions can have the biggest impact. To expand your ability to provide regular product resources to the people you serve, we encourage you to investigate the name brands of the items you prefer to see if the issuing company makes product donations for charitable use. The Board hopes you all understand that as a small foundation, we are eager to preserve our ability to help your communities through smaller, impactful grants.
